James Playford, M.Ed., Registered Psychotherapist
Psychotherapy

In my practice, I draw on humanistic, cognitive-behavioral, and psychodynamic therapeutic approaches to conceptualize and address client needs.
I follow an Insight-Oriented and Person-Centered approach, which means that you and I will work together in a supportive and kind therapeutic relationship utilizing honest and confidential conversations to identify and change, as required, the cognitive and behavioural patterns through which you live.
I enjoy helping clients move through transitional times at different stages of life, especially College and University students and young professionals. We will work together to develop your self-understanding and confidence in navigating the new territory you find yourself in.

I encourage clients to spend time outside of sessions working on themselves. This might take the form of self-reflecting in a journal or experimenting with new and healthier thought and behavioral patterns.
